Smartphones have changed the way how we are living. We can’t even imagine the next day without a smartphone placed nearer to our hands.

The same thing can be said about the internet and browser. We are doing most of the tasks using the browser or dedicated mobile apps. When it comes to the browser, Google Chrome the top priority for most of us.

To make life easier, we use various Chrome extensions. Have you ever wonder how to install Chrome extensions on Android Smartphones? If your answer is yes then you are in the right place.

Install Chrome extensions on mobile

Many people think it is not possible to install desktop Chrome extensions on mobile devices. Long story short, you can do this on your smartphone.

Well, there are several methods to do this and we are going to discuss them in detail. To be honest you can install the extensions on the default Chrome browser as the mobile app of this browser is still not supported.

No need to root your device for this. However, you can follow the below steps to get the same experience on other browsers.

1 – Using Firefox Browser

Firefox is another popular browser having millions of users. If you are not using Chrome then you must have been using this browser. Firefox has also a web store where you can get most of the extensions.

Step 1 – Go to Play Store and search for the Firefox browser.

Step 2 – After installing the browser launch it. Then selection option named Desktop view.

Step 3 – Type Firefox extensions on the search bar and visit the first link. It would be the official website of Firefox.

Step 4 – Search for the extension you want to install and add it to Firefox.

Step 5 – Go to the options menu and find the extension tap. You will see all the extensions you have installed.

Note – Some people are suggesting that you can install any Chrome extension on Firefox. But you can’t do this because they are not compatible. Firefox is a different software than Google Chrome.

Firefox web store is also huge and you would get most of the Chrome extensions there. If you didn’t find the same one then find an alternative.

2 – Using Yandex browser

Yandex is another popular browser with 100 million active installations. This is the most used browser in Russia. This browser is based on Chromium that is an open-source project. So you can install Chrome extensions on mobile using the Yandex browser.

Follow the below steps to use Chrome extensions on Android smartphones.

Step 1 – Open Google Play Store and search for the Yandex app. Install it on your phone.

Step 2 – In the URL search bar of the app, type Chrome Web Store, and click on the first result. Or simply click on this link to visit that site.

Step 3 – Search for the extension that you want to install. Once you found it tap on Add to Chrome button.

Step 4 – Now the extensions would be added to the Yandex browser and you can enjoy the same features.

Note – Some extensions may not perform the same as in Chrome. This is because the compactibility is there and you should search for alternatives. The installed extensions can be found in a dedicated tab.

3 – Using Kiwi browser

Kiwi browser is a less known app but comes in handy in this case. This is free to use and you can use Chrome extensions on Android devices.

Step 1 – Open Google Play Store and search for Kiwi browser

Step 2 – Once the app is installed on your device open it and type the following in the address bar.

Step 3 – On the new page switch on the “Developer mode”.

Step 4 – Make sure that you have activated the desktop site option. Then search for extensions and tap on the Add to Chrome button. A popup will appear and you need to tap on the OK button.

Step 5 – To check the extensions, select the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner of the display, and choose “Extensions.” Here you can find all the extensions. You can manage them from this tab as well.

Important note

As I told you earlier Chrome has not a default option to install extensions on the app. Desktop-based browsers and extensions are different than mobile browsers.

You can use the above methods to use the same extensions in other browsers.

So these are some of the best methods that demonstrate how you can install Chrome extensions on mobile. As there is no direct way to do this, you should follow one of the above methods.
