Xioami’s sub-brand Redmi is famous for its entry-level smartphones. Now it aims to build flagships level phones too.
Now, a leaked image of the Redmi’s upcoming phone was leaked via a Sina Weibo post might have given us the first look of the phone. Sina Weibo is one of the biggest social media platforms in China. It might apparently be named the Redmi Pro 2.
Here is the leaked image.
As per the image, the phone has a notch-less, hole-less screen with pop-up selfie camera. There are thin bezels on both side and the top. The chin is still there and clearly visible. The photo shows the Redmi Pro 2 with gradient or Aura finish just like the Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro phones. It seems like Redmi fall in love with this design.
The placement of the pop-up selfie camera is similar to Vivo V15 smartphone. Pop-up selfie camera is a great way to get rid of the notch and punch-hole design.
Luckily, we can see the back side of the phone also. The phone is equipped with a triple rear camera setup with LED flash. The camera unit is vertically aligned and looks good. The render also suggests that there will be a 48MP main sensor like Redmi Note 7. The “Redmi by Xiaomi” brand logo is there on the back.
Besides the triple rear cameras and pop-up selfie camera, another key highlight of the Redmi Pro 2 is Snapdragon 855 chipset. Redmi Pro 2 will be the first Redmi phone to have a Snapdragon 855 processor. This new Pro 2 may be the beginning of flagship lineup phones by Redmi.
Usually, we have seen this processor in flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S10, Xiaomi Mi9. Recently, Xiaomi has shipped more than 1 million Mi 9 units worldwide.
The image also hints that the phone is packed with a 4800mAh battery.
A few days back, we have seen a teaser video of Xioami’s foldable phone. It clearly indicates that the company is now focusing on the flagship range phones.
There is no launch date of Redmi Pro 2 announced yet by the company. We will update you when the date announced.
