After seeing hundreds of teasers and leaks, finally, the Oppo Reno and Reno 10x Zoom Edition is here. The company has unveiled the phones at an event held in Beijing, China today.
The Reno comes in two versions: the Reno standard edition and the Reno 10x Zoom Edition. Both of the smartphones feature full view OLED displays without any notches. Design wise both the phones are identical.
The selfie camera implementation is one of the weird design we have seen. It is placed in a peculiar side-swing pop-up mechanism. We have seen a lot of hype on this type of camera implementation before the launch. Some say this camera implementation as Shark-fin pop-up selfie camera. A new selfie camera trend may start with this design. Samsung has also launched its latest midrange smartphone Galaxy A80 with a motorized sliding-flipping camera module.
OPPO Reno Standard Edition
The OPPO Reno Standard Edition is the mid-range phone. It comes with a Snapdragon 710 chipset along with 6GB+128GB, 6GB+256GB and 8GB+256GB variants.
It has a 6.4-inch OLED screen and a side-swing pop-up camera without any notch. It comes with a 16MP selfie camera. On the back, it has dual camera setup having 48MP F/1.7 primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor.
It packed with 3,765 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 support.
The Oppo Reno standard edition comes in four attracting colors like Fog Sea Green, Nebula Purple, Mist Pink, and Extreme Night Black.
It costs 2,999 yuan (~$450) for 6GB+128GB model, 3,299 yuan (~$490) for 6GB+256GB version, and 3,599 yuan (~$540) for the 8GB+256GB variant.
OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition
OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition is a flagship range phone and powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC. It is equipped with a colossal 6.6-inch display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 6.
It also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner and much faster than the previous generations.
The weird design side-swing pop-up houses a 16MP front-facing camera along with an earpiece and a selfie flash. On the back, it has a triple camera setup. A 48MP Sony IMX586 as the primary sensor, paired with a 13MP F/3.0 periscope camera with 10x hybrid zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor.
It is packed with 4,065 mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.
The OPPO Reno 10X Zoom comes with 6GB+128GB, 6GB+256GB and 8GB+256GB variants. It costs 3,999 yuan (~$595) for the 6GB+128GB variant, 4,499 yaun (~$670) for the 6GB+256GB version, and 4,799 yuan (~$719) for the 8GB+256GB version.
The Oppo Reno Standard Edition will go on sale in China from April 19. The flagship phone, Oppo Reno 10x Zoom edition will be available in mid-May. Both the phones will be available globally from April 24. It is interesting to see the pricing in the global market.
Lastly, OPPO will also announce a 5G variant of the OPPO Reno 10X within the second quarter of this year. We may find some hits on Switzerland event held on April 24. We will update you here.
